At Zhik, performance has always meant more than speed on the water. It means responsibility to the waters we all share. reZHIKle is Zhik's wetsuit take-back and recycling program, a direct response to a simple fact: over a million wetsuits go to waste every year.
Drop your old wetsuit at a Certified reZHIKle Partner store and it stays out of landfill. Instead it gets a second life, reprocessed into new material and made into new products. A genuine closed loop.
reZHIKle is part of a broader Zhik sustainability commitment, from Yulex natural rubber wetsuits to responsible end-of-life pathways for the gear you have retired. Doing less harm is not enough. We want to actively undo it.
Across Europe, reZHIKle is powered by Circular Flow, specialists in mechanical neoprene recycling. They reprocess end-of-life wetsuits into Renoprene, a usable material made into new products and returned to market. Not down-cycled. Not landfilled. A genuine circular loop.
From old wetsuit to new product
At end of life, neoprene usually goes to landfill or incineration. With Circular Flow, the loop closes instead. Here is how an old wetsuit comes back as something new.
Collect
Old wetsuits are gathered at nominated reZHIKle collection points.
Consolidate
Suits are consolidated and sent to the Circular Flow factory in Bulgaria.
Design & develop
Zhik and Circular Flow design a collection of products using the recycled neoprene.
QR traceability
A QR code is added to every new product for full transparency.
Back to market
New products are shipped, ready to be sold for new adventures.
Return & repeat
At end of life, scan the QR code to return the item, and the process starts again.
Neoprene doesn't go away.
It goes to landfill.
Neoprene is non-biodegradable. Buried, it persists for centuries. Burned, it releases chloroprene, a known carcinogen, along with dioxins and hydrochloric acid. Either way, the ocean pays the price.
Persists for centuries. Leachate contaminates soil and groundwater with heavy metals and additives.
Releases chloroprene, dioxins, furans and hydrochloric acid. COâ‚‚ and Nâ‚‚O contribute to climate change.
Fragments into microplastics that enter the marine food chain, affecting wildlife and human health.

reZHIKle FAQ
Does it have to be a Zhik wetsuit?
No. The Europe reZHIKle program accepts any brand of wetsuit, in any quantity. We just ask that it is clean and dry before drop-off.
What does it cost me to recycle?
Nothing. Dropping your old wetsuit at a partner store is free. Many partners also offer a saving on a new Yulex wetsuit when you recycle, so ask in store.
Who is Circular Flow?
Circular Flow is Zhik's neoprene recycling partner for Europe. They use mechanical recycling to reprocess end-of-life neoprene into a new usable material called Renoprene, at their solar-powered facility, keeping it in a genuine circular loop.
How is my wetsuit recycled?
It is collected from the partner store, consolidated, and sent to the Circular Flow factory. There it is mechanically reprocessed into new neoprene material, made into new products and returned to market. Every product carries a QR code, so it can be returned and recycled again at end of life.
Where can I drop off my old wetsuit?
At Certified reZHIKle Partner stores across Europe. Find your nearest one on our store locator.
